Mistborn is a fantasy novel written by American author Brandon Sanderson. The book was first published in 2006 and became the first installment in the Mistborn trilogy. The story takes place in a world where magic is an inherited ability, and the protagonist, Vin, discovers she has magical powers and uses them to overthrow the villainous Lord Ruler.
A movie adaptation of Mistborn has been in the works since at least 2017. In August 2020, it was announced that DMG Entertainment had acquired the film rights to the series and planned to produce a trilogy of films. Sanderson was set to be an executive producer, and Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, were attached as producers.
As of August 2021, no further updates about the Mistborn movie have been released.
